On September 8th, an event hosted by the British Chambers of Commerce will examine how the country's labour market was affected by the recession and what the future holds for UK employment.
Specific issues to be addressed in the discussion include how to increase flexibility in the labour market to support job creation and the skills that are needed in the workforce to re-balance the UK economy.
Tom Hadley, director of external relations at the REC, commented: 'At this pivotal time for the UK labour market, the recruitment industry is increasingly recognised as a key voice on the latest employment trends and on the outlook for jobs across different sectors and regions.'
He also claimed that the event will allow the recruitment industry to present its concerns to policymakers and client organisations.
Last week, the REC revealed that it will hold a series of regional workshops on the Agency Workers Regulations in September.
