Jobseekers 'need to learn to sell themselves'

Jobseekers
IT jobseekers and other candidates have to do their best to sell themselves in an increasingly competitive jobs market, it has been suggested.

Writing in the Express & Star, Ioana Lazarov said one of the major challenges people have when seeking a new job is learning of what vacancies are on the market, and recommended they sign up for email alerts to keep them informed.

'When completing job applications make sure you follow the recommendations of formatting and submit it in good time,' she continued.

Ms Lazarov also advised applicants to make the most of attributes and skills such as a willingness to travel or the ability to speak a second language by highlighting these on their CV.

In addition, the commentator said that people should not underestimate other candidates who are chasing the vacancy and told them to keep the competition in mind when they attempt to sell themselves,

Earlier this week, Anter Prakash Singh wrote in the Money Times that displaying a confident and relaxed attitude can be the key to job interview success.
