REC Agency Work Regulations campaign enters new phase

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) is to examine how clients should deal with the Agency Work Regulations.

As part of its ongoing campaign into the new rules, the group will be looking at how firms should prepare for increased legal risks and extra costs caused by the regulations, as well as how to go about managing temporary workers.

Tom Hadley, director of external relations at the REC, said recent focus groups have shown employers and recruitment agencies will need to work closer together when the rules come into force.

'This is good news for the industry and opens the door for recruiters who are ahead of the game and fully briefed to demonstrate real added value,' he commented.

Last month, the REC joined a debate with the European Commission's Labour Law Unit and other countries' employment groups to discuss how the Agency Work Regulations can be best introduced across the UK and the continent.
