Kevin Brennan, skills minister, commented: 'Many companies and organisations are very good at training their staff, but we need to make sure that all businesses are advising employees on what is on offer.'
He added that the right will give workers the confidence to take control of their careers by asking bosses about training and skills development opportunities.
In addition, the minister pointed out that allowing employees to undertake more training will allow firms to benefit from improved performance and productivity.
Last week, the government announced that the UK's skills system has been made simpler to help both learners and their employers.
