
The latest malware report by Sunbelt Software showed that Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT was the most common detection last month, accounting for 18.69 per cent of attacks.
In total, six of the top ten threats were trojans with Trojan-Spy.Win32.Zbot.gen, Trojan.Win32.Generic!SB.0, Trojan.ASF.Wimad, Trojan.Win32.Malware and Trojan.Malware also featuring on the list.
Sunbelt Software vice president of threat research Michael St Neitzel commented: 'They're being used to download a lot of malware, including rogue security products, bot installers and spyware that steal banking passwords.'
He also claimed that the results are still a 'huge threat' to those in IT security jobs.
The research also revealed that two malware threats - Fast Browser Search and Trojan.Win32.Malware - are new additions to the monthly ranking.
