
Research from BCS , the chartered institute for IT, assessed what companies need to improve their IT departments this year.
It found the most important factor was strategy and planning, which 60 per cent favoured, while 45 per cent said that business change would help the department. An additional 37 per cent stated that nurturing the skills and talent of those in IT jobs would aid their business.
Cliff Lineker, strategic business development director at the organisation, said that employers are right to be concerned about getting skilled staff into the company, adding that they are needed to move the business forward.
He added: 'It is important that companies still invest time and energy into recruiting and retaining key employees of the future.'
