
Speaking to the BBC, Keith Dugdale, director of global recruitment at the accountancy company KPMG, said that businesses have to identify ways to take on talented workers while keeping costs manageable in the recession.
'More forward-looking employers are looking at more flexible working patterns. We would use much more creative ways of working, offering different types of contracts,' he explained.
Mr Dugdale added that it is unclear whether firms will continue to use creative working patterns once the recession is over.
Luke McKend, head of recruitment at Google, also told the news provider that his company is focusing on finding candidates with 'innovation' in the coming 12 months, which may interest those thinking of moving IT jobs.
Last month, industry analyst IDC said that firms will cautiously increase their investment in IT during 2010, especially in areas such as online services and mobile devices.
