
Kevin Green, chief executive at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), claims that there have been numerous good signs in the sector during the last three months.
'We're just starting to see growth in vacancies and placements in both temporary and permanent position,' he states.
While he acknowledges that there are still not huge volumes of positions being made available, he says there is a well defined improvement.
Mr Green states: 'Confidence is just starting to deploy.'
He adds that a number of employers are beginning to think about lifting their freeze on recruitment, which is a strong positive indicator.
Recent figures published by the Office for National Statistics revealed that the rate of decline in the labour market was at its slowest pace in the third quarter of the year.
